Y. Angela Lam attended the University of Chicago, where she earned a Master of Public Policy, with honors, in 2004, and A.B. degrees in Public Policy, with honors, and International Studies in 2003. Angela received her J.D. in 2009, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was an Articles Submission Editor for the Minnesota Law Review. She also served as an extern to U.S. District Judge David S. Doty of the District of Minnesota.
From January 2010 to March 2016, Angela worked for two large law firms, including 5+ years in San Francisco and Palo Alto, California. She has focused her practice exclusively on employment law defense and counseling. Angela has litigated employment cases in federal and state court, including defending claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act. Angela is a member of the State Bars of California and Illinois, and an expert California employment law contributor for Lexis Practice Advisor.
